BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING

            The Board of Lee County Commissioners will conduct a Budget Workshop Meeting on Monday, May 20, 2013, beginning at 1:30 p.m., to discuss upcoming budget issues for Fiscal Year 2013-14.

 

            This Workshop Meeting will be held in the County Commission Chambers, Old Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida.  This meeting is open to the public and interested citizens are invited to attend, however, no public input will be taken at this Workshop.

                                  NOTICE OF INTENT TO ENACT A LEE COUNTY

ORDINANCE

 

Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Lee County, Florida will consider the enactment of a county ordinance in accordance with Article VIII, Section 1, of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.  A description of the proposed county ordinance is as follows:

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING LEE COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, CHAPTERS 2, 6, 10, 12, 14, 22, 26, 30, 33, and 34 TO: Expand the authority to issue administrative variances to facilitate redevelopment of residential and commercial projects; Combine and reduce limited development order types by 50%; Remove required community review of limited development orders; Revise application requirements to eliminate obsolete and onerous submittal items; Revise considerations and findings for certain zoning actions to reflect current practice; Add more uses permitted by right and administrative approval in conventional and planned development zoning districts; Allow expansion of certain existing facilities via special exception in lieu of rezoning to planned development; Codify provisions for development of regional impact (DRI) essentially built out determination; Increase major planned development (DCI) thresholds; Delete excessive language, clarify requirements and create consistency between Chapters; Simplify the procedure for updating the current zoning map to allow GIS based zoning map; Update codification of fire safety and flood hazard reduction regulations to be consistent with State requirements; Expand ability to issue concurrency compliance renewals and extensions administratively; Add flexibility to open space, landscaping and surface water management system standards; Add provisions to allow park-and-ride lots and spaces and seasonal farmers markets; Allow electronic changing message centers to be permitted along US 41 between the intersection of Gladiolus Drive/Ben C. Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway and the intersection of Alico Road; And adoption of Two Citizen Initiated Amendments to allow docks on adjacent property under separate ownership and Temporary Mail Distribution areas for use during Holiday Season. 

 

There will be two public hearings held on two separate dates in the County Commissioners Chambers, Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida.   The first public hearing will be held on Tuesday, the 14th day of May 2013, at 5:05 p.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard.  The second public hearing will be held on Tuesday, the 28th day of May, 2013, at 9:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter as can be heard. 

 

Copies of this Notice and the proposed ordinance are on file in the Minutes Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lee County.  The public may inspect or copy the ordinance during business hours at the Division of Public Resources.  The Minutes Office and the Division of Public Resources are located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.

 

Interested parties may appear at the meeting, in person or through a representative, and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.

 

Anyone wishing to appeal the decision(s) made by the Board with respect to the matters considered at the meeting will need a record of the proceedings.  Generally, a verbatim record, including all testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, will be necessary.

 

            If adopted by the Board at this meeting, the ordinance will take effect upon its filing with the Office of the Secretary of the Florida Department of State.

ORDINANCE

 

Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Lee County, Florida will consider the enactment of a county ordinance in accordance with Article VIII, Section 1, of the Florida Constitution and Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.  The ordinance is:

 

AN ORDINANCE OF LEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING LEE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 05-17 (CONSERVATION LAND ACQUISITION AND STEWARDSHIP ADVISORY COMMITTEE); IMPLEMENTING RECOMMENDATIONS BY THE CONSERVATION 2020 BLUE RIBBON COMMITTEE ADOPTED BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ON NOVEMBER 6, 2012; AMENDING PROGRAM CRITERIA AND RULES OF PROCEDURE.

 

            There will be one public hearing held in the County Commissioners Chambers, Lee County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers, Florida.   The public hearing will be held on Tuesday, the 28th  day of May, 2013 at 9:30 AM, or as soon thereafter as can be heard. 

 

            Copies of this Notice and the proposed ordinance are on file in the Minutes Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Lee County.  The public may inspect or copy the ordinance during regular business hours at the Division of Public Resources.  The Minutes Office and the Division of Public Resources are located in the Courthouse Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, Florida.
