The Division of County Lands provides the following core services:

REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION NEGOTIATIONS

Acquires all real estate interest from private and public property owners as necessary to construct Capital Improvement Projects or specially funded projects (e.g. Federal or State Grant Programs, MSTBU Projects) in full compliance with Federal, State or local laws, as may be required for governmental real estate transactions.

REAL ESTATE DISPOSITION REVIEW
SForSale

Reviews County owned surplus real estate for possible disposal either by donation or sale in full compliance with Florida Statute 125.35 or Florida Statute 125.38, as the case may be, for disposition of governmentally owned real estate.

REAL ESTATE TITLE EXAMINATION

Performs complete examination and special research of real estate ownership and of property encumbrances necessary to properly support the requirements of core services described above.  Further, provides title examination and reports to the County Attorney's Office for litigation of real estate condemnation and/or foreclosure.

COUNTY LANDS INVENTORY CONTROLGIS_Mapping

Maintains the official inventory of all real property owned or leased by Lee County with information as to purpose for acquisition, costs associated with purchase, existing environmental conditions, improvements made to the land, if any, and potential for subsequent sale, to include input to the Geographical Information System for visual reference.  Complies with County Administrative Code and Public Record Laws.

TAX DEED SALES OF COUNTY HELD CERTIFICATES

Initiates applications for tax deed sales, deposits fees and handles subsequent liquidation of County held tax certificates, in full compliance with Florida Statute 197.502 and F.A.C. 12D-13.060.

CONSERVATION LANDS PROGRAM or

Assists the Board appointed citizen advisory committee with all required activities of the Conservation Lands Program.  Coordinates the implementation of the program and evaluation of nominated properties for consideration by the advisory committee.
