About the Office of Sustainability
The Lee County Office of Sustainability was established in 2010 and is the evolution of long-standing values, policies, and initiatives set forth by the community and the Lee County Board of County Commissioners.
The Office maximizes opportunities to promote a balanced approached to economic, social, and environmental resources in our community. Our main efforts are coordinating with departments to solve problems by fostering innovation, utilizing best practices, and implementing the County’s commitment to conducting the most efficient, responsible and coordinated operations.
The goal of the Office is to position Lee County to achieve long-term sustainability. This is achieved through evaluating, quantifying, and improving systems, projects, and programs. The Office provides leadership in cultivating a livable and resilient community where there is an unmistakable balance between social well-being and equity, economic prosperity and environmental resource conservation.
