Program/Project Description: The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is an entitlement grant funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Lee County receives an annual allocation based on a formula calculated by HUD, generally based on population and income level of the County. Funded projects include housing rehabilitation, down payment assistance, public service programs, enhanced code enforcement, infrastructure improvements and homeless shelter programs. Funding is secured by submitting an Annual Action Plan, due in August of each year.
