Public Drinking Water Systems
|
A public drinking water system is a water system that provides piped water for human consumption to 25 or more people for more than 60 days per year, or has 15 or more service connections. There are three types of public water systems included in this definition: Community Water Systems, Non-Transient Non-Community Water Systems, and Transient Non-Community Water Systems.Environmental Engineering has been delegated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (http://www.dep.state.fl.us) to perform regulation and compliance monitoring and permitting for the Safe Drinking Water Act public drinking water program in Lee County.Responsibilities include
chemical and bacteriological monitoring, facilities inspections and
sanitary surveys, water plant and distribution system construction
permitting, enforcement, and collection and analysis of drinking water
samples in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Chapters 62-550,
62-555 and 62-560.
