New Road Projects:

Summerlin Rd. from Cypress Lake to Boy Scout Dr.  - construction begins this week to widen Summerlin Rd. to 6 lanes and construct and overpass at College Pkwy. Utility work, construction layout and installation of temporary pavement in the median will get underway. Two travel lanes in each directional will be maintained during daylight hours.

BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Coconut Road - The project to widen Coconut Road west of US 41 began on February 11, 2008. Work to include: re-alignment of the intersection at US 41, road widening, and utility installation. The project is scheduled to take 6 months. BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Corkscrew Road - Construction of a two-lane curve at the eastern most portion of Corkscrew Road began January 7, 2008 and should last 6 months. If you have any questions, please contact Eyra Cash at 239/533-8562.
BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) S.R. 78 and Littleton Road. This project is scheduled to be completed within 60 days or the end of April 2008. Lane closures and traffic impacts may occur but will be minimal.

BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Construction on Gunnery Road from SR 82 to Lee Blvd began February 27th and will last 16 months.  This project will cause traffic delays.  Please use an alternate route. If you have any questions, Randy Cerchie at (239) 533-8580.
BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Three Oaks Parkway - The Three Oaks widening project began December 4, 2006. The project will widen Three Oaks Parkway between Corkscrew and Alico to four lanes and should be completed by September 2008. If you have any questions, please contact Randy Cerchie at 239/533-8580.

Matlacha Bridge – will have 15 to 20 minute traffic delays for repairs, Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 8:00 p.m. to 2 a.m., one night only. Contact Doug Busbee at 357-4674 for any questions.

BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Treeline Av - Landscaping – Arborwood Community Development District will be managing the installation of irrigation and landscaping along Treeline Av. between Colonial Blvd. and Daniels Pkwy. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end 2008. BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) Cape Coral Bridge - Lee County DOT Operations will be managing the Steel Beams Repair and Painting for Cape Coral Bridge Road (WB) over Caloosahatchee. The project will last for 120 days starting Monday, February 18, 2008. There will be lane closures except for the peak traffic hours. There will be a reduction of 4 (four) feet to the clearance height due to the construction work.

BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes) There will be a road closure Wednesday, January 30, 2008 and Thursday, January 31, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Figuera Avenue, intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Lynneda Avenue, and the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and New York Drive in East Fort Myers due to relocation of water lines (drainage and sidewalk project for DOT). BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes)  Sewer Line Extension - 6535 Winkler Rd ~ Lee County Utilities will be installing a sewer line extension at 6535 Winkler Road on September 13, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The lane closure will be the right lane on the north bound side. BALLRED1a.gif (1727 bytes)  Clary’s Site work will be performing turn lane improvements on Burnt Store Road just south of Embers Parkway during the week of April 9th.  Expect lane closures during off-peak hours.

County-Wide Road Resurfacing
